Tourism comprises about 18% of Greece’s economy with many people traveling to see the historic monuments and ruins but there is much more to this country, beaches, sun, food, music and culture are only a few of the things Greece has to offer. Mississippi Riverboat Travel

The American Queen is a magnificent paddleboat on the which sales the mighty Mississippi. This vessel has 222 state rooms and is 6 decks high, 418 feet in length and 89 feet wide. The 160 crew on board cater for the436 guests on board offering luxury service and an experience to remember. The huge exhaust stacks can be lowered to allow the boat to go under low bridges and the 45 ton paddle wheel is powered with the help of authentic steam engines and a little help from some state of the art diesel engines.

San Diego Zoo

It’s the 4th of July so today we take a look at one of the worlds best zoos, the San Diego Zoo in Southern California. This zoo has one of the worlds finest collections of animals and plays an important role in conservation and the breeding of endangered and threatened species. One of the most popular animal exhibits is the Giant Panda’s which are truly magnificent. The zoo has recently opened a Monkey Walk which is also very popular here visitors can get very close to a selection of interesting primates in a very real environment. Visitors to Los Angeles can visit visit the zoo in a day trip but San Diego has so much to offer including a historic townships, waterfront precincts, great shopping and the Zoo’s wild animal park adventure… and the Mexican border is only minutes away on the train.

Moscow’s Metro System

The Subway system of Moscow is truly a must see. Mostly built during the Starlin era, the stations are more like museums than subway stations. Many of the Metro stations feature ornate artworks and statues that depict images of the bygone communist era, in a form of artwork often described as Socialist realism. Dubai to knock back Hooters plan

The popular restaurant chain Hooters which is very popular throughout the US for its food, well lets face it- it’s hot waitresses wearing tight T Shirts and short orange shorts has sold franchises rights to a company in Dubai for a Dubai chain of restaurants. The plan was going pretty well and with so many American and western people working or visiting this booming city the owners of the chain could see huge success awaiting, with the first Hooters expecting to open later this year. Then along came the Dubai Department of Economic Development and they pointed out that hot waitresses wearing tight T shirts and shorts isn’t really the thing to do in Dubai as it is in violation of the Muslim Emirate’s “Religion, tradition and Culture”. So we now have a bit of a stand off and it looks like Dubai Hooters may not get to its opening day, which some say cast doubts on some other western concepts being tried in the region. Orlando – Theme park family fun

Orlando in central Florida is home to plenty of retirees in Bombay shorts and white shoes and socks and the world’s biggest theme parks. There’s the huge Disneyworld complex, Universal Studios, Seaworld just to name some of the big ones. Then there’s the smaller more kitschy ones like Gatorworld or Ripley’s Believe it or not and even The Holy Land Experience. Orlando would have to be one of the best places for family fun especially if you like standing in a queue.

The Tower of Terror

One of Disney’s most exciting rides from the Orlando’s Disneyworld the tower of terror has now opened in both Tokyo Disney Sea and the California Adventure park in Anaheim. This ride takes visitors on a 13 story fall in an lift to an amazing and thrilling climax through the wonders of the Twilight Zone. Strap your seats in and enjoy this video of the ride.
